Designer Statement
My fashion creations are a celebration of colour, creativity, and joy. I design genderless, inclusive and multi size pieces that challenge traditional fashion norms and encourage colourful self-expression without limitations. My use of vibrant colours and clashing patterns is apparent through all of my work, as I believe that fashion should be fun, exciting and playful. I work with colour, texture and detail in a manner that corresponds with surges in dopamine, an intuitive practise of adding and adapting as I go.
My goal when creating wearable looks is to repurpose existing materials that would otherwise end up in landfills, reducing waste and the environmental impact of my production. Collecting and salvaging the smallest textiles and fabrics and assembling them to create new work to reflects my dedication for sustainability and slow fashion.
Created entirely from repurposed and remnant fabrics, this bold patchwork ensemble reduces waste while making a powerful statement about the current political climate. With a feminine look on a masculine figure and subtle gender role play in the shoes, this outfit pushes boundaries and attempts to inspire the viewer to consider new possibilities for fashion and gender expression.
